Prerequisites
- Manage Server permission on the Discord server you want to add Lynxly to
- A Discord account and the server created
Step 1: Invite Lynxly
- Open lynxly.xyz and use the invite or “Add to Discord” button.
- Select the server from the dropdown (you must have Manage Server there).
- Review the requested permissions. Approve them so the bot can function correctly.
- Complete the Discord authorization (captcha if shown).
Step 2: Open the Dashboard
- Go to the Lynxly Dashboard.
- Sign in with Discord when prompted.
- Authorize the Lynxly application so the dashboard can read your servers and manage the bot.
Step 3: Connect your server
- In the Dashboard, find the server you added Lynxly to.
- Click Connect, Setup, or the server name (wording may vary).
- If the server is not listed, ensure you invited the bot to that server and that you have Manage Server there.
- Complete any one-time setup (e.g. selecting a default channel or confirming settings).
Step 4: Basic configuration
Recommended first steps:- Command prefix — Set the prefix used for text commands (e.g.
!,?, orlynx). See Configuration. - Log channel — Choose a channel for moderation and event logs. See Features → Logging.
- Moderation — Enable auto-mod or moderation commands and set roles. See Features → Moderation.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to try |
|---|---|
| Bot doesn’t respond | Check permissions and that the bot has access to the channel. Ensure you’re using the correct command prefix. |
| Server not in Dashboard | Re-invite the bot with the correct permissions. Refresh the Dashboard and sign in again with Discord. |
| Missing features | Enable the right modules in Configuration and assign the bot the permissions from Permissions. |
